Bought these for my kid that uses actual straws to build. It comes in a knapsack like bag with drawstring handles and an idea page. The colors are vibrant and sturdy pieces. Not likely to split when using them to build. I think there needs to be more short pieces so we will probably cut some of the longer ones with scissors if we need more. Over a great value.
The kids are always building forts out of things. They were so excited to get this and it has been a huge hit! The product is simple and strong enough for young or old kids to use. The kids can easily put together a massive fort without much effort and let their imaginations run wild. No more searching the house for sheets, books, weights, etc and trying to balance everything perilously on mom's nice furniture. Everything needed for a great fort is in the box, including a nice bag to keep the whole thing in when not in use. Such a simple, fun, and well executed idea!
This is a great toy! My 3-year-old loves building with these straws and is easily able to assemble them herself. She is able to make simple geometric shapes as well as large structures that she uses for forts, tents, castes, etc. She also enjoys counting the straws and sorting them by color. I highly recommend this toy. We purchased it to take on a trip to grandma's house and it was a huge success.
It was a little hard for my son to put together. He is 6 years old. It became a mommy and son project which I enjoyed. After building it, my son used blankets to put on top and he enjoyed crawling around in his little tent. Super easy to put away. I think because the connections Were new it was difficult to put together but I think after a while it should loosen up a little. I like that the pieces can be stored back in the box which makes it easy for storing or taking it elsewhere
This is a clever building product. I bought two because the reviews said there wasn't enough to build the fort. I did find that the straws are not strong enough to support any kind of cover but the lightest you can find to make a fort. 5 yr old likes them. a few more suggestions on the insert would have been fun for the little ones but overall it is well made. It would be nice to have some connectors with different angles on them instead of all right angles to add a little variety. Maybe some blue ones that let you angle it differently?
I homeschool my preschool aged daughter and have recently discovered STEM learning. In my quest to find something fun I came across straws! Not only did my almost four year old daughter get more creative as her structure came to life, my 14 year old son had to join the fun. (I must admit, even I had to help). I highly recommend this product you will be anazed at the creativity your child can dream up."
