Cute toy. I purchased the blue version. My youngest cat (8 months old) enjoys it the most. She'll attack and wrestle with it. My other cats (3 and 4 years old) mainly sit and watch it flop with an occasional pawing. I want to try additional catnip in the fish (it did come with a little pouch of nip) to see if I can get more action out of other cats. The fish came vacuum sealed so it was a bit flat at first. I removed the motor and tossed the cover in the dryer for a bit. It fluffed up just fine. Overall ... two paws up.
This is my cat's favorite toy. I got it for her the day she came home from surgery. He had, had a pin in her leg for months and had it removed on this day. She came home very loopy from the drugs she received and wasn't interested in anything nor very happy. As soon as I turned her fish on, she attacked with love and has been since. As soon as she hears the sound it makes when it's tale flips, she comes running.
I plugged it in and within a few minutes it was fully charged. I guess it was already mostly charged. I stuffed the bag of catnip inside and flipped the power switch. I gave the fish a tap and it started flopping. My male cat immediately started playing with it. His sister just watched (she's a scaredy cat). I hope they don't get bored with it. If so, I'll put it away for awhile, then bring it back. They don't have long memories :)
My cat Shadow almost grabbed this out of my hands. He loves his toys and this one has become a firm favorite. I thought it might frighten him at first because it does make quite a bit of noise. But, he was kicking it and pouncing on it as if it was alive. Don’t think the catnip enticed him really because he was so interested in the fact that it was moving, but what do I know, I am not a cat! Anyway, he played with it until the battery ran out and fishy needed to be juiced up. I also put this underneath his blankie and in the cat tunnel and it drives him crazy. He highly recommends it.
so far, so good… I have had no problems with it whatsoever and my cat seems to love it. Not just for a day, but over the last few weeks, he is still interested, and that’s saying a lot because he is very picky and usually loses interest quickly. Since it wiggles, he tries to make it stop by trying “to kill it”, LOL.
My cat loves this fish. She was a bit leery about it at first because of the noise, but I turned it off and let her play with it a while before turning it on again. I really like the fact I can charge it and not have to deal with batteries. I had seen it in several different ads, but NewAmazingTrends had the best price I could find.
