When I first finished assembling it, it wouldn’t work. So I dismantled it and re-sanded and recoated all morning parts with wax. It worked once and only once. When I rewound it, it did nothing. It was fun to build though
Loved the project, but the cam shaft broke as I was almost done with the valves, and over all looks wonderful, but honestly over priced , I want to do the pk ups, just pondering the dollar issues !
This was my first try at trying to put one of these projects together. I found it very challenging but so rewarding. If you really take your time and study the instructions thoroughly, you will find it remarkable at how all the pieces fit together. My car came out really good, but I could have done better with paying more attention to details. I am definitely going to get another model to build now that I have a better understanding of getting the gears to work better. I love it and look forward to another challenge. Thank you. Bruce
I'm only about 15% of the way through building this and enjoying it immensely. I'm amazed at how well the pieces fit together and the engineering in designing this. It looks like the steering wheel actually turns the car and from looking ahead at the direction has a transmission that can actually go in reverse. Instead of using the wax, I'm using both Pledge (since it's spray on wax) and I'm using an oil for the kitchen cutting board. This seems to work as both a lubricant and a preservative. So far it's working well.
