I've been working on some little home renovating projects. So we needed to do some rework on some of the tables and chairs around the house. I just hated having to cut after measuring because it never fits the edge perfectly. This is the absolute perfect solution to that. It cuts through the edge bands so smoothly that it's almost too effortless to use. My fav is that the hedge trimmer has a spring in the middle so you can probably fit all kinds of panels in different widths in there. Keeps everything going smoothly and cuts quickly. I just wished I'd discovered this earlier!
let me start by saying that I stopped working on my project just to leave this review. I read mixed reviews about this and I was hesitant to buy it. I'm glad I did, it's working great. so far, I've banded over I'm really happy with the results. I haven't changed the blades yet, but it's still working great.
I have used banding before and then trimmed it with a utility knife. The edges did not look good. There are ragged. I did not want to spend the money on this product but eventually did. I am very happy I did. The finish looks great and it is very easy to use.
I really sharpened the blades. But in the end, I found the Colt router with an edge trimming bit is my preferred tool for normal banding work. I now use this for small and intricate cleanup work where the router is too much tool.
This is a GREAT tool. I received it today and am learning how to use it. I’m a beginner at woodworking, but I’ve hand-sanded many pieces. I’m glad that I decided to order it. Thanks to the production team for this price-wise, but very useful, planer
